STRENGTHS: Alisaie is a prodigy, so her intelligence and sharpness are one of her greatest assets, she learns quickly and retains gobs of information. Such was her academic skill that she was accepted to the prodigious Studium of Sharlayan (basically fantasy Ivy league college) at the tender age of 11, the youngest in recorded history to have ever attended.

She's also very strong of heart, sticking to her ideals and tenaciously pursuing her goals. Though it is taboo to leave Sharlayan to interact with the outside world, Alisaie leaves home the moment she is of age to pursue the mystery of her grandfather's death, and none could convince her otherwise. She strikes her own paths, charging ahead bullheadedly even, if that is what it takes to achieve her goals, and even in the face of great torment and loss she does not back down.

Lastly, she is actually quite kind, even though she has difficulty expressing at - she cares a great deal for her family, and grows connected with people exceptionally quickly.. at least when she allows it to happen. She cares a great deal for her comrades, and even for strangers, often stepping into danger and putting herself in the line of fire to help or protect others. Though she seems quite prickly on the outside, she cares enormously for other people.

FLAWS: First and foremost, Alisaie is quite stubborn, often standing in the way of her own success - that selfsame tenacity that helps her to complete her goals hurts her just as much, when she cannot allow herself to let go of feelings or beliefs she holds close to her heart. When even her brother chides her for her obsessive bullheadedness, Alisaie charges into danger and the unknown in order to solve the mystery of the Coils of Bahamut. There are few who can get her to stand down when she is on the scent of something, and even her most trusted allies and family face difficulties when attempting to sway her.

She also has a very quick and very hot temper; all but volcanic at times, she is prone to losing her composure when feeling threatened, afraid, or stressed, and often expresses her sadness and hurt via anger. In an outburst of anger, she confronts a Primal on her own, a great and terrifying creature that could have easily enslaved or killed her. She does not hold back when speaking her mind, her tongue is sharp as a knife. It is not uncommon for her to make mistakes or get into altercations with people when she cannot keep her temper in check.

Alisaie is also quite reckless. Despite her prodigal intelligence and keen sense of judgment, she often does not look before she leaps, especially when she's emotionally tangled up in her choices. As stated above, she stepped right into the the line of fire of a very dangerous primal, and nearly got herself enslaved to it for her efforts. Smart and sharp though she is, Alisaie often thinks with her heart before her head, leading her to make rash decisions in the heat of the moment.

Canon Abilities: Alisaie can use the abilities of both an arcanist and a red mage.

AU INFORMATION

AU CHARACTER NAME: Alisaie Leveilleur
AGE: 16
GRADE: By age Alisaie would be in 10th grade, however she is canonically a prodigy, and she attended college at the age of 11, so would I would like it if she were studying at university/collegiate levels if possible.
AU BACKSTORY:
Alisaie is fey, more specifically a particular type of elflike fey called elezen, and as such, she was born and raised in Outland. Her family line has always been at the head of her small country, and so she had a noble upbringing, groomed for success and responsibility. Her grandfather, Louisoix Leveilleur, ceded rule to her father to pursue his own interests not long after she was born, and as she was a very private, quiet little girl, she spent a great deal of time with him. They shared similar ideals - namely a curiosity and fascination with the lands beyond their tightly closed borders, and even further still, past the Outland and into Earth. Alisaie was not a very popular among her peers even as a very small girl, and even her own family struggled to understand her, ever attempting to mold her into the person they hoped she would be. Her grandfather, however, supported her for who she was, and even nurtured her sharp tongue and wit and sense of adventure, things quite unbecoming for a girl of her bloodline. He often crossed between Outland and Earth, and brought back colorful stories for her.

So when he left their home city of Sharlayan behind for good to pursue a life on Earth, she elected to follow him. He forbade it, of course, as did her parents, but Alisaie would not be stopped, and at the tender age of eleven years she followed him between the planes and onto a strange ship full of strange peoples, right to the academy. Once she was discovered, he had not the heart to break her spirit or endanger the sense of self and will that he had fostered in her, and so he allowed her to stay with him. Though she has ventured to Outland plenty of times since, she has not returned to Sharlayan, as she has all but fallen into disgrace for breaking their most important of creeds: not to interact or interfere with the outside world.

Thankfully, her prodigal skills and astounding intelligence, as well as her natural aptitude for magic and her "supernatural" heritage, she was accepted all but immediately into the Academy, living with her grandfather only a few miles from the school during holidays and summers, and on campus while school was in. He had brought with him much gold, and many valuable gems from Sharlayan, and so they live very comfortably - she's admittedly a bit pampered.

However, tragedy struck when her grandfather never returned from a mission to investigate the nightfall only two years after their arrival on Earth. She herself and the Academy both have launched investigations, only to have come up empty handed - all signs point to his death. He has never returned home, nor sent a letter, and no trace of him has turned up anywhere at all. This was devastating to Alisaie, for Louisoix was the only person in the world whom she could count on, the only one who had ever and always supported her for who and what she was, rather than who and what she was not. Even now she struggles to cope with and accept his loss, without a body she does not have closure, though her hopes for his return grow more and more dim with each passing year, for surely, were he alive somewhere, he would not leave her alone, he would contact her some way, somehow, to let her know he was alive.. wouldn't he?

Though she aches to follow his trail, Alisaie continues with her education and training, sure that with more skill and power she will better be able to learn the truth of his passing, and help to end the threat that he had so valiantly pledged himself to.

AU PERSONALITY DEVIATION: Alisaie's personality will be similar to her canon personality, with the notable difference being that she will be taken from very early in her canon, before any of her big leaps forward in character development.

What this means is that her more negative traits will be kicked back to the forefront again. She will be very insular and anti-social, cynical and angry with the world, and very reluctant to make contact with other people on anything beyond a professional level. She is able to function in society without problem, but she has no established friendships, nor does she trust people at face value. Jaded for her age, she is very prickly and quiet, does not make conversation easily, and makes no real effort to connect with people, as she is too afraid of loss to voluntarily establish closeness with others.

Of course, she is not unkind, and she cares for people deeply, but she holds them at arms' length, does not easily smile, and has no real interest in anyone or anything beyond solving the mystery of her grandfather's death.

RACE: Fey, specifically a particular sub-race called Elezen.
SECRET SOCIETY: Alisaie is from a long line of Runic Mages.

POWERS: In order to best mirror her canon abilities, Alisaie will be a bit of a hybrid class, her people having established and perfected a type of power called runic magic. It combines general Mage work with that of runic powers, using runes and sigils written in grimoires to create magical geometry, through which they can channel offensive and healing magic, as well as summon creatures called Carbuncles. These three-tailed, foxlike animals are made up entirely of the user's magic and aether, and therefore are something of an offshoot of their master's personality and heart.

Also, as a fey, she has heightened senses, and when in Outland she will have a slightly different form, notably with body and facial markings and faery wings which she can use to fly. She can manifest this form on Earth as well but it is incredibly difficult and taxing, so she would not call on it unless under duress and it were absolutely necessary.

HOUSING: Alisaie's roommate will be Prompto, but no preference as to who they are sharing the second room/bathroom with.
