[ This sass!! But okay, maybe she has a point, and it's easy enough for him to laugh at himself, too, so he laughs right alongside her. It's a pleasant sound, their laughter ringing together. ]

If you wanna get technical, they're not under my bed, but under my mattress. Much harder to spot that way.

Not that many, honest! Only like...three or four. I managed to get rid of most of 'em back in El Minha. Kids loved 'em!

[ oh, that's too bad.. she was really enjoying the mental image of prompto sleeping on a suspiciously lumpy mattress that squeaked with every movement. stop ruining her comedic imaginings, prompto!! ]

They come to a ridge alongside the forest where a stream runs below, and Prompto shuffles to a stop, glancing off into the trees. ]

Wonder how big this world is...you reckon if we went through the forest, we'd just wind up on the other side of the temple?

the truly amazing thing here is that we managed to do this entire thread without typoing "rubber dicks." admittedly, "rubber fucks" almost happened but i caught it in time. ]

I would not be surprised; I've yet to reach any sort of edge to it.

[ she stops beside him when he does, peering down at the stream; maybe she could talk him into a swim.. but she's got the feeling that he is still withholding, that there are words behind his teeth that he just won't allow to pass. ]

[ She's not wrong, and he's still...not quite ready to say them. Or rather, he doesn't know how to, or whether or not he should. Instead of speaking again right away, he drops down, hooking his legs over the ridge to let them dangle above the stream below, pocketing the metal cube once more. ]

Me neither. Not that...I've spent a lot of time in the woods. They kind of give me the willies.

[ okay, no swimming yet, but this is a decent enough start. alisaie drops to sit right beside him, though she's immediately crossing one leg over the other to begin tugging off her boot. ]

[ unless he is afraid of giant woolly-bear caterpillars!! ]

Says you! For all we know, deep in those woods there's some kind of...giant, flesh-eating slug, or something.

[ Or worse, a giant spider.

[ .. not that giant!! it was like, i dunno, two fulms long?? something like that. a cuddly size, but still much, much bigger than an average 'pillar. honestly, even a super gigantic one would still be adorable, stop being such a baby, prompto!!

anyway, up comes the other foot, so she can pluck off her second boot. ]

And if there is? You are not unused to combat, are you? Surely it would not be anything you could not handle.

[ After glancing at her thoughtfully for a moment, he decides to follow suit, unlacing his boots so he can pluck them off his feet. ]

...You think so? [ They hadn't run into each other while fighting while they were in El Minha, but he had shown Alisaie those pictures from their travels across Eos. Maybe she just assumed they he must be able to fight, given his familiarity with monsters. ] Heh. Maybe. Still! Doesn't mean I wanna run into 'em, if I can avoid it.

[ with her boots tossed aside, alisaie stretches her legs to dip both feet into the nice, cool water. gods, when was the last time she actually got to enjoy a nice, good swim? too long. el minha had hardly offered an opportunity. she leans back on her hands, and exhales softly.

and yeah i mean he was shooting guns in a lot of those photos, and talking selfies mid-battle so i mean.. ]

Well, that is no reason to avoid something that might be interesting or fun. You could run into a flesh-eating slug anywhere.

[ Not a few moments after Alisaie dips her toes into the water Prompto does as well, though he reflexively pulls back and gasps when he feels just how cold the water is. Yikes, it's freezing! But a moment later he eases his feet back in, now more prepared for the oncoming cold. ]

Not back on Eos. Can't believe I'm gonna say it, but I think I'd prefer most of our monsters to a flesh-eating slug.

[ Most, but not all. Still, he sounds almost...nostalgic as he says it. He's grown rather homesick for those bygone days of hunting monsters across the world. Even when they return to their world, it won't be the same. It already hasn't been, for some time. ]

[ even the morbols?? i mean to be fair most monsters could be categorized as flesh-eating anyway.. prompto is just a prissy boy who doesn't like slime. also a priss who doesn't like cold water - she absolutely grins and snickers when he jerks away. what a soft, sensitive boy!!

but aw man that probably means she can't convince him to swim.. not unless she just shoves him in i guess. ]

Guess you've got a point, though. Gotta say, those hot showers and comfy beds wouldn't have felt as good if we weren't crawling out of holes in the ground and tackling baddies.
