I did not mean to worry you, or any of the others. But you need fret no longer, I am perfectly safe.
[ it was a worry that went both ways - not a day has gone by since she left the circle that alisaie has wondered what became of them, and she only she and a handful of others ended up here, separated from the rest. this gives her no answers, but it does ease her heart, just a little. ]
[Konoha might not be able to stop the tears for a little while, but she manages a smile through them, full of relief that Alisaie not only says she's alright, but looks it, too. This place, it didn't seem to be as dangerous so far compared to some of the worlds they'd traveled to in the Circle, but still-]
What have you been up to all this time?
[With great effort, she manages to loosen her hold on the shorter girl just a little, looking down at her with still-wet eyes.]

[ at last she can breathe, freed from the soft yet suffocating bosom prison.. ]
Precious little, to be quite honest. Compared with our work for the Circle, this place is.. peaceful.
[ the hug might have broken, but alisaie's hands remain rested on konoha's forearms. she might not be the one pulling anyone into bear hugs, but she has nevertheless missed konoha very, very much. it feels selfish to be happy to see her here, when she could be home, but still.. ]
There have been a few hiccups here and there, but most of the time, life here is oddly placid.
[Even hearing the same from Arenvald and Connor she can't quite believe it after all they'd been through in the Circle together, what she'd gone through since they left. What did it feel like to be in a city and not be wondering what was "wrong" with it, what needed "fixing"... or else.
She's almost forgotten.]
What kind of hiccups? Do you get rabbit and wolf ears, too?

And clasps Alisaie's forearms in turn, even if she is still a bit weirded out by the way the "moonlacing" makes it feel nicer than it usually did.]

[ why this embarrasses her is anyone's guess, given how she was able to literally transform into animals with the circle, but somehow just having cute ears and a tail is more embarrassing?? i don't know, that's just how it is. ]
It's not terribly troublesome, though. The worst we have had is some killer vines and a barrage of baby dragons. Nothing too difficult to handle.
["Last time I saw you, you were a giant goat!" is exactly what runs through Konoha's mind at that point. But... jeez, rabbits, wolves, foxes... Surely nothing like that should happen to her? She's already... equine enough, right?]
Haha... Leave it to Alisaie to call killer vines and baby dragons not too difficult...
[She might be tiny, but Konoha had faith in her strength... and she can't help but laugh a bit helplessly. Maybe the type of laugh you do so as not to cry or panic, but still, it's a laugh!]
And now I can't just make food to pay people back for protecting me, oh no...
Well, we certainly faced far more challenging things working with the Circle. Both of us.
[ konoha might have trouble acknowledging her worth when consistently being surrounded by soldiers and experts in combat, but as far as alisaie is concerned, her skills simply lie in a different arena!!
like cooking. she laughs, light and easy, and reaches to wipe the tears from konoha's face (she has to really get on her tiptoes..) with the cuff of her sleeve. ]
But of course you can. I burned canned soup last night.
Thankfully? it does give Konoha something far more pressing to focus on, and she clutches her own stomach in sympathy, looking past Alisaie into the apartment. Where was her kitchen-]
H- Have you eaten since then? I could make something while we talk, you shouldn't just be subsisting on burnt soup!
[And talks always went better on full stomachs. Right?]
also don't mind the new journal IT'S STILL ME!! my old one was banished to make way for the new one so just pretend her clothing isn't different.. ]

[ honestly, alisaie loves food and does not skip meals purposefully, but she does often find herself busy enough to forget. oops. normally she might chafe at being fussed over, but konoha is.. different, and alisaie knows her well enough to know that it will likely give her more distress not to cook for alisaie, than to deny her. so she acquiesces with a gusty sigh and a slanted smile. ]
But I suppose I am a little hungry, if you've nothing else to do.
[How could she not devote herself to Alisaie for at least a while, when she hasn't seen her for so long? Konoha is totally ready to shoo the shorter woman into the apartment, tapping her hooves in the entrance way to get the dirt off.]
[ okay okay KONOHA WINS.. alisaie would never consider herself a pushover, not in a hundred years, and yet konoha's aggressive kindness will defeat her at every turn tbh. alisaie unlocks the door with a sweep of her watch and steps in, gesturing with a grand sweep of her arm. ]
