but ah. alisaie's eyes snap open immediately. spaghetti and cuddling might not be enough to get her out of bed, but cheesecake(s) sure will. ]

Blueberry, strawberry, aaaand salted caramel. Not gonna let me eat these all myself, are you?

[ She would never let him do such a thing, he knows. He's more sure of that than he's ever been sure of anything, tbh. ]

[ salted caramel.. ahhh..

she sits right up, muffling a yawn behind her wrist and then rubbing the sleep from her eyes, before she's shoving at him to get out of the bed so she doesn't have to clamber over him. ]

Well, get a move on, then.

[ Wow, and a minute ago she was being so cute and cuddly! Still, she's getting out of bed, and so Prompto doesn't make himself an obstacle, instead rolling back off the bed and offering her a hand.

Sure, it's like, a two second walk to their kitchen, but that doesn't mean they can't be gross in that amount of time. ]

[ ugh this is so gross!! the only reason she takes his hand without question (and without teasing him, or tossing him a withering look), if because he like, died, a couple weeks ago. don't worry, soon enough she will be back to her fully tsun self, but for now, she indulges him.

with her fingers woven through his, alisaie follows him to the small kitchenette, leaning forward to better breathe in the scent of the food. ]

What is all this, Prompto?

[ Don't worry, he will cherish this time of sappy Alisaie while he has it, because he knows it won't last forever. As they arrive at the table, he pulls out her chair for her before squeezing her hand and letting it go to sit himself. ]

Today's a pretty special day. Think you can figure out what it is?

[ He's the bigger sap than her, but still, she might remember! He'll give her the benefit of the doubt. ]

[ she doesn't even give him a face when he pulls out her chair!! amazing.

but uh oh.. she is definitely not sappy enough for him. lifting her fork, alisaie looks thoughtful. ]

Is it.. an anniversary?

[ Shush, he can pull out her chair for her anytime anyways, it's one of his rights as husband! But he doesn't seem bothered that she can't pick out the date. To be fair, Prompto is wont to celebrate every little milestone in their relationship. It seems especially prudent right now, when they need something to celebrate more than ever.

His mouth hooks into a grin as he uncorks the bottle of wine. ]

Mh-hmm! A pretty special one. It's been a year since we met.

[ And what a year it has been. ]

[ his place is in the kitchen not pulling out chairs!!

her expression softens though, a warm smile curving her mouth; of course he would remember such a thing. alisaie knows it's been around that much time since they've met, but she hadn't taken note of the date; it comes as no surprise that prompto had. ]

.. has it truly only been that long?

[ while in some ways it feels as if they met only yesterday, more often than not it feels as if it has been years, as if she has always been here, living this life. with her free hand, alisaie reaches across the table to slip her fingers over his own. ]

You have been by my side from the start. I do not know what I would have done without you. Everything would have been so much more difficult.

[ He turns his hand in hers when she reaches for him, lacing their fingers together as he pours out two glasses of wine. He understands the feeling. This year they've had together has been a whirlwind, full of ups and downs. Prompto had experienced some of the best moments of his life, and some of the worst, but looking back on it all, when it comes down to it, he has no regrets. ]

...You're telling me. If I didn't have you...I'd be lost. [ It's as simple as that. She's been his harbor in this world, his guiding star. She's kept him on track time and time again and rescued him from the brink, and so it only feels right to acknowledge how far they've come together, from that first, simple conversation, to husband and wife.

It's unbelievable.

He chuckles a little breathlessly. ]

Bet you never thought that loser who was complaining about mobile games would end up being your husband, did you?

I most certainly did not.

[ understatement of the year, to be honest. how could she have ever expected such a turn of events? ]

I suppose I had always expected to build a family some day, in my own time, but I had not considered exactly what that had meant. If you had asked me then, I should never have thought to find anyone who could stand my company long enough to want to to spent their life with me.

[ it's self-deprecating, but alisaie is chuckling and smiling, tightening her hold on his hand before releasing it, so she can begin to eat. ]

And yet.. here we are.

[ And yet, here they are, one year later, in love and married and closer than ever. Neither of them expected this, could have predicted how close they would grow. Had they remained only friends, they surely would have formed a strong bond eventually, but that they fell in love...

Well. He doesn't need to tell her how unspeakably wonderful it has been.

He lets go of her hand to skewer a forkful of spaghetti. ]

Crazy how things happen, huh? [ His smile is warm, fond. ] I never saw it coming, either. Even when I started crushing on you, I never thought you'd...you know. Feel the same.

[ for all she had not wanted to get out of bed, alisaie is sure happily shoveling down this spaghetti. prompto's gotten pretty good at making a mean spaghet, his one and only gourmet meal, and alisaie never turns down food. or maybe she just wants to hurry up and get to the cheesecake(s)..

either way, she is tucking in. ]

But just how many other girls were you crushing on at the exact same time, hm?

[ she asks, through a grin. she knows her boy!! ]

[ Wow, he's trying to be cute and sweet and she comes back at him like this!!! He scoffs, even if it's not wholly earnest, because, well...okay, yeah, maybe she wasn't the only girl he was crushing on. But she was the one who made the most impact!!

...Obviously.

After swallowing a mouthful of noodles: ]

H-hey! It happens! What, you didn't have your eye on anyone else before I came along?

[ ...Okay, he already knows the answer to that question. ]

[ does he expect any different.. he chose to marry this menace, need he be reminded. she tickled his feet while he was trapped after they had been dating for like 10 minutes. why would she be any different at an anniversary(?) dinner?? ]

Of course not. I've never had a crush in my life.

[ not any she has been aware of, at least, not in the sense that prompto was. adopting an airy tone - ]

Unlike you, I am not attracted to everything that moves.

[ He times well a sip of his wine, nearly snorting into his glass with laughter or indignation - or both. ]

As your husband, I find that kinda hard to believe!

[ She at least had a crush on him!!! ]

And I have very discerning tastes, thank you very much! Not my fault the Natha rescued so many babes.

[ If she's going to menace, then he will menace right back! ]

[ she barks a laugh around a forkful of spaghetti, and takes a moment to swallow it down before she goes on. ]

Please. I don't believe that for a moment.

[ she knows you, prompto.. she knows her man!! any vaguely cute girl had him tripping over his own feet and sighing dreamily!! ]

[ He hums thoughtfully for a moment. ]

Hm...yeah, I guess you're right.

[ Then his grin curves sharply as he looks to her again. ]

I mean, I did wind up marrying a gremlin.

[ SHOTS FIRED ]

[ WOW does prompto want to die this day... alisaie very nearly drops her fork, and responds with a muffled mmnf! around a mouthful of spaghetti - then remembers to swallow, first. ]

What is that supposed to mean!

[ she's so much cuter than a gremlin!! ]

[ Please don't choke and die, dear wife. Prompto shoots her a fingergun before sticking another forkful of spaghetti into his mouth. ]

It means I love youuuuuu! Have I mentioned you're looking lovely tonight, dearest?

[ sips wine like kermit ]

[ if she chokes and dies you can be sure she will grab him by the throat and take him down with her.. ]

That is a lie, I just woke up.

[ she looks like a hot mess!! ]

But you know, I am relatively certain that gremlins to not give back rubs.

[ or blow jobs, is what she really means. so much for a nice anniversary night, huh!! ]

[ Well at least they can die together this time...

And whatever, she looks her cutest when she's fresh out of bed with her hair all rumpled like that! Don't threaten his anniversary blow jobs. :c ]

Mmm, I dunno, sounds kinda like a stretch to me! I mean, you're the only gremlin I know I can base this analysis on, and you give great back rubs.
